Internet sign problem

While doing internet ....we all know that a E sign appears at the top ...I was also having that but for somedays instead of E sign ,I am getting a G sign and my net speed became slow...that G sign rarely becomes E sign and that time the speed again becomes fast but the E sign is reappearing for few minutes and again it gets converted to G sign .....So,here lies the problem .....What is that G sign that is reducing my net speed ???? What can I do to get back that E sign ??.....Is it my Airtel network problem?? ....Will it be solved autometically ??....plz help me ....

'G' signs indicates that there is GPRS data coverage in your area which is slower, while 'E' sign indicates "Edge" data service.

If you move from one location to other, this may happen. Because the nearest cell tower might have either Edge or GPRS equipment installed. But if this is happening on the same location, then you should talk to your service provider.
