Internet slow on wifi

I was under the impression that whether I have 4 signal bars, or 1 bar, as long as I'm connected to my router I should be able to whizz through websites?

Is that not the case?

I have that app and have done a test. I don't ever turn my mobile data off, I just connect to my router. I am going to contact EE about the lack of signal but really thought as long as I was on wifi that my internet shouldn't be effected

Hi

I suggest you turn your mobile data off when not using it. Saves battery and ensures your browser doesn't use it when you want it to use wifi. (which I suspect is the problem) Your wifi is much faster than I get and mine is plenty fast enough for browsing. :)

Do you mean signal bars on WiFi?
If so, fewer bars will mean a slower ping, which will noticeable slow down your browsing

On most if not all smartphones as soon as your phone connects to WiFi the packet data switches off automatically, and you should notice this at the top of the screen.
