Intresting Thought and Question?

does anyone believe that the "openness" of the Android platform may lead to its downfall due the lack of security from the source?

Ultimately yes, I live android but seriously what are there only 3 or so serious devices that are considered good devices ? the other 197 are crap devices filled with crap bloat and all around garbage specs, I know this sounds harsh but it's the ugly truth , unless google clamps down and stops letting manufactures and the carriers run a muck with their source then android will be in bad shape

yeah i agree but then there are the people who have the knowledge of how to gain root access and they could if they wanted steal everything on our phones i think its built on a huge community of trust

Well I agree but what does root access have to do with them stealing info , I know I have rooted many a device and can't steal info , if they were a dev who made an app to hijack info or a rom or something then yes that's quite possible so it is based on trust in that sense

This is exactly what happens with just about every PC which is running Windows of course.... just saying. The alternative would be a totally locked-down type device where one company controls the whole thing and says what can and cannot happen. like Apple's iOS.

yeah what i meant was the rom and devs cuz i know the first thing i do when i root my device is rom it and i am glad i trust the dev over on xda
