Intro

Hi, my name is Roger and I am fairly new to Android system. I recently started receiving 2 constant messages and they are as follows:

1. "TEXT MESSAGE MEMORY IS FULL"
2. "LOW ON SPACE-PHONE STORAGE SPACE IS GETTING LOW

On # 1, I have already erased all the text message threads that were on my phone and I am still getting the same messages. What does this mean, and more importantly can anyone help me out and tell me what I eed to do to correct this?

On # 2. What do I need to do in order to fix this problem? Do I need to purchase a much bigger SD card? Can someone please help me?

Thank you very much!!!!
B-Safe, B-Well!!!
Roger

Welcome to Android Forums, Roger.

A bigger SD card won't help. The message database is stored on the phone's internal memory. The easiest way to gain some memory is to uninstall some apps you don't use or use infrequently. You can also clear the cache for apps that store old data internally. If you go to menu>settings>applications>manage applications, the bottom of the screen will show you how much free memory you have and you can dump caches and apps there.

If you are on Android 2.2 or later, you can also move some apps to the sd card to free additional memory.
