Introductions

Hi. I'm Ashley. I have an HTC Incredible which I love. I came from the world of blackberry and also had an iPhone for about 6 months. HATED ATT, so I went back to the land of blackberry, with a BB Storm. That phone was the worlds largest POS. I'm loving the andriod platform (since, we have bought my mom an incredible, my husband a droid X and my sister a samsung fascinate... we could be a commercial, lol).

I do wish however that there was native task syncing with exchange (I know, i can do it with touchdown, but i'd like it to be native), and wish there were more bluetooth keyboards available.

One question you all may be able to answer for me though, was a USB keyboard. I was wondering if there is an app or perhaps a specific keyboard that is available for the incredible. I am a dog trainer, so I am on the road a lot, and carrying my laptop for a full sized keyboard is a huge pain. BT is just another thing that I need to charge, and if it dies, I cant use it, but a USB keyboard (full size) would work perfectly so I dont have to carry my laptop around just to answer emails.

Thanks guy!
Ashley

Welcome to the Android Forums!

One of the many challenges with direct Exchange integration is that the folks in Redmond Washington really don't derive any benefit from Android integrating with Exchange. In fact direct integration potentially costs them money in lost WP7 phone sales.

It looks like an enhancement request has been in place with Google for support of USB keyboards. I don't know what the specific status of this is but you might want to go into Google and star this to add your support for the request.

Issue 1147 - android - RFE: Support for external keyboard, mouse - Project Hosting on Google Code

I appreciate your help. I starred that issue and hope that google will seriously take a look at it.

I know that exchange integration is going to be a pain, but it really is the best way for me to do things. Its so frustrating, coming from an iPhone that has all of that, including the notes, not just tasks. Its the ONLY reason I am considering going back to it. I love my andriod, but that is really frustrating.

Thanks again,
Ashley

Your welcome!

Consider using Touchdown in the interim as it is a really good Exchange client! I've got it on my Droid X and use it daily. I was leery of it at first but I'm really happy with how well the app seems to work.
