Help Invisible in Google Hangouts

I just got a new Note 3. Before, I was using a Droid Razr. When I used the Razr I had no problem being "invisible" in Gmail chat on my PC. Ever since I got the Note, I cannot be invisible on my PC anymore because it tells me I'm logged in somewhere else. I signed out of Hangouts on my Note 3, and for good measure I turned on the WiFi on my old Razr and logged out of Hangouts on there too. Still cannot be invisible on Gmail chat on my PC...says I'm logged in somewhere else. Tried logging in and out of Gmail chat, no dice. (Note that I'm using Gmail chat, not Google Hangouts, on my PC.)

what else do I need to do, to return to invisible status on Gmail chat?

Have you tried the "revert to old version" button?

I mean I don't know what it's going to do on PC if you do that, but it might work to something.

Otherwise I don't see the "Invisible" setting.

On my PC I am actually using the old version, so I don't have that option...instead I have "try the new Hangouts".

I switched it to Hangouts on my PC, then reverted back to old chat...still the same problem

Unfortunately if you don't have a workaround I just found this in the Description for the Google Hangouts app on the playstore.

Unlike Google Talk, Hangouts does not support "invisible" status.

So it would seem that what you are asking is impossible on Hangouts.
