Ionic Guardian vs Otterbox

Hi there.

If you ask me, I was tempted to buy Ionic but the design is realyl a no-no for me. I don't have it but from what I see, if comparing with OB, OB is a clear winner. Just my 2 cents :)

Yeah, but it's also several hundred percent cheaper than an Otterbox, and it got all 5 star reviews at Amazon.

What do you mean by the design is a no-no?

I have this case and I think it is a really solid case. And for 10 bucks off amazon, how can you beat that? Ihad the otterbox defender for the iphone 3gs for 3+ years. And had the same for the iphone 5 for a month. I loved my 3gs case because of the protection but it made the phone very heavy and bulky. Now I loved that iphone 5 case even more. But again made the phone seem alot larger then it was. Which didn't bother me. But the note 2 is not your average size phone so I'm curious as to how bulky the case will make the N2. The ionic case does not feel overly bulky or anything. Now with that said, I still plan on getting the otterbox case at some point (whenever it comes out and the price drops on amazon), but not because I feel this isnt a good case, because of the clip on the otterbox and mainly because if the built in screen protector. I really didnt want to have to put an individual screen protector on this phone but otterbox is just taking way to long and I need protection. Since then I have ordered a screen protector and a pouch for the case to go into. Everything for under $30. Hard to beat.

For the price, it's not too shabby however I'm not too fond of those circles or dimples or whatever they are. Makes the case look pretty hideous IMO. OB's are great but way overpriced. I'm looking to get an OB case for my Note 2 however I'll probably wait a couple months when they start hitting Amazon for ~$20.

I hear you. To me it doesn't look bad and I'm usually just concerned about functionality over form....of course I wouldn't want a hot pink case ;)

Here's a quote from one of the reviews at Amazon: "The cut-outs on the rear that leave the rubber exposed are very helpful. they make the device actually usable with ONE hand."

Update: I got the Ionic Guardian case and it is a bad ************! Probably the best case you can get for around $15.

Here you go: Amazon.com: Fosmon HYBO Series PC + Silicone Hybrid Kickstand Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 II / N7100 - Icy White: Cell Phones & Accessories - solid as a tank, 2 piece design similar to Defender. Inner case is hard plastic interlocking with screen edge cover (although no plastic screen protector), and outer is silicon for a better grip. I heard it adds some bulk, but you get a good protection for the device.

I actually ordered the same one without "fosmon" brand name on kickstand, from ebay for $4.95 shipped. Should get it by Friday and will do a detailed review with pictures.

Oh, and "you get what you pay for" applies to A LOT of stuff, but with phone cases you can have an exception ;) People pay extra for a piece of mind and a brand name.

Don't. I have had otterbox cases on all my iPhones and some androids and they were fine. This was the first one I had to return because it makes the phone twice as thick and much larger. I got the seidio active now and it's about perfect. My otterbox was the defender.

I have had the OB commuter on for a couple of days now and its by far the best mobile case i have ever owned, well worth the money. (although the bundled screen protector is beyond crap).

U have the ob.. very built for the note 2.i use it on days it will be banging around all over my bag and I won't use it much.
Overall, I love the uag and it's 20 $
