iOS User w/ Android Tendencies

Hi guys, I have been reading Android Forums for a while now because of my interest in Android phones.

As the title suggest, I am an iPhone user; the 3G to be specific, that I have owned for the past 2 years. Honestly, I am not so much in favor of choosing another iPhone to replace this one for obvious reasons. Though I would like to see how Android develops further at least till mid this year, perhaps by then Honeycomb would be running on a number of smartphones, and smartphones cum tablet.

Personally, I prefer stock Android and if what I have read is true, Motorola will be abandoning MOTOBLUR for direct OS updates from Google. I hope this happens as I have a preference for Motorola among the Android Phone Manufacturers due to the build quality, though I believe HTC isn't too bad as well.

The only thing that bothers me are the investments I have made on iOS apps. Though not a lot, still I find it to be a waste if I were to never again use those apps, iPod Touches and iPads have never appealed to me either.

Hi, v5point0.
Welcome on board. The. Android market may not have all the apps as iOS, but I think one hundred thousand apps should suffice. You will most likely find something that you're looking for.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Thank you Martimus

I agree with you Rushrl, I only use about 30 applications on iOS, so I don't see a point in having a store with a 10 billion count. For ones like Toodledo and DailyBurn where there are no native app in the Market Place, I guess third party would have to do or I would have to settle with the web app and improvise with the shortcomings ie using email/sms instead of push alarms with the iOS Toodledo app.

I hope the Android market will see more developers coming to it, it is about time the playing field gets leveled.
