Iphone 4.0 OS ... What's the big To-Do?

I mean multi-tasking?...Android did it.
Folders?...Android did it.
Open-Source?...Android did it.
Modern-new-age commercials to catch people's eyes and ears by using a solo guitarist and converses?... Android did not do it.... We don't need commercials.

I mean its getting to that point that every generation has had to go through... choosing between the two top Companies. Such as...
BMW or Mercedes
Kawasaki or Suzuki
Even Bubblicious or Big League Chew

But now it has to do with our Modern fast-paced "I want everything in an instant" generation...
Apple or Google/HTC/Android

The problem is that the everyday, boring, average people never get a chance to voice their opinions on this topic between these two companies because they do not own blogs nor are the important. But here is YOUR chance. What are your ideas/likes/dislikes/wants/or needs from these companies. Which is better in your opinion and why. Lets start and OPEN NON-BIAS DISCUSSION that includes both companies...bashing is allowed ... of coarse

Actually, I can definitely see more commercials helping android. The DROID ad blitz no dount sealed the deal on VZW's DROID sales.

Ya there is no denying that advertising played a major part in making the Droid the best selling android device. Saying that android doesn't need advertising is a bit arrogant.

Very true... i completely forgot about the DROID advertising, where I live I have seen only about 4 of them, at most, about 6 months ago.

I saw the Droid in the news, on CNN, that was how I first learned about it.

A commercial that says "yea, android has had all this stuff for a while, big deal" would be nice. It's the kind of commercial that reminds me a lot of I'm a Mac and I'm a PC ads that Apple runs

I saw a droid incredible ad during 24. I guess this means the Big V was behind all those ads, not motorola.

Yeah Droid advertising was huge, and in reality it still is. I still see many more Droid commercials than Droid Incredible ones. The nice part is all these "Cargo bay of apps" commercials probably help push Android on other devices/carriers too.

The most definitely need to advertise Android devices. Android is kicking off, it just beat iPhone sales in the Q1 2010 in the US.

I mean multi-tasking?...Android did it.
And I have been doing it with my jailbreak.

Folders?...Android did it.
Ditto about the jailbreak.

Open-Source?...Android did it.
OK, one thing I can definitely say iPhone OS4.0 will NOT be is Open Source! It will be as closed up and locked down as any other iPhone OS. Thank GOD for jailbreaks!

Yes they do. I seed the Droid commercials all the time, and they are really pushing the OS as much as the hardware. And if they want to compete with Apple, they NEED to advertise.

BMW or Mercedes
Audi

Kawasaki or Suzuki
Honda (although I'd trade my Honda Magna V65 for a Suzuki Boulevard C50)

Even Bubblicious or Big League Chew
Bubble Yum

ANDROID!

I love my iPhone, sure, but I love it because it's jailbroken and I can make it do stuff that Apple doesn't want it to do, like folders and multitasking and themes and whatever. Without the jailbreak, it's just too confined. And this is why I want to move to Android when my contract expires, I don't want to have to deal with the constant jailbreaking and Apples BS. I really hate the way they do business. But anyways, Android needs to advertise to keep nipping at iPhone sales, word of mouth is not enough against the legions of Apple fanboi sheeples.

I would like to see the little green droid advertise to sum degree on my TV,thats how apple got alot of these folks brainwash, an iphone commercial is on every hour.

They should push Android devices, especially when the EVO 4G comes out. They could give the little green Android a personality and really become a great mascot for the platform.

Yeah, in Europe iPhone still dominates the Android. Yet to see a really good android commercial, usual to find the good android articles just in Norway I need to dig a bit, though its getting more and more "accepted" then it was before. >_>;;

But I have been wondering what Microsoft will do as well to be honest, I mean yesterday Apple had passed Microsoft for that day in worth. So I'm feeling we will see more cross sharing among companies.

There's been the odd HTC ad in the UK but not many. Not specifically about Android but promoting Android (and WinMo) phones.

I think the carriers/manufacturers should band together and push android big time.

AT&T won't go along with that, that's pretty obvious. They talk about having Android phones, but they are all weak and/or crippled so far. They don't want to hurt iPhone sales for some reason. I don't know exactly why they car, a handset sold is a handset sold, they must be getting kickbacks from Apple or something. I'd stay with AT&T if I could get a good Android handset through them, but so far, there's nothing that makes me want to do that. So I'll be moving to Verizon if nothing changes. Only real option is the Nexus 1, but I don't want a trackball. But I have a year until my iPhone contract ends, so we'll see what happens.

ive seen a few desire adverts in the UK, more than iphone adds tbh.

and my friends have commented they have seen my phone advertised.

i think they are stepping it up and we will see way more in the future.

ESPECIALLY with such dominating handsets such as the desire and N1

Many people with iPhones hate AT&T. If AT&T pushes a phone that is better than the iPhone, and those users switch... it won't be long before they realize that similar phones are available on every network that are better than the iPhone.

Then they leave AT&T. Right now, the only thing AT&T has going for it... is the iPhone.

Not to mention android is a lot more data intensive than iphone. Contant ota sync, widget feeds, and whatever other you've got going on.

Of course its relative to the person, I.e. an android with no widgets etc. Vs someone streaming pandora all day with an iphone, but over all i'd say android sucks up a lot more data behind the scenes.

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

I've seen the commercials in the past for Android... Some obscure crap with "Droid does" without telling you what the hell it does, and what the heck it was.

I actually first found out about it (other than the above) by looking at it in a Verizon store.
