iPhone convert

Newbie
No, the other way around. I converted TO iPhone from Android.

After years of frustration with the hardware and software of Android phones I have succumbed to the siren call of Apple. I am leaving the night of geekdom to embrace the light of simple. Although I may have joined the 'cult' I won't be drinking the kool-aid. :)

Well bwt51, I did that too for 14 days, and then totally frustrated, I traded the iPhone 4s back in for a Droid Charge. Apple is good, no doubt, but too simple. Plus the applications from the Store have very few settings like the apps from the Market.

The real deal breaker for me was the lack of an equivalent browser like Dolphin, and no back button. They have a Dolphin Browser for iPhone, but it is nothing like the Android version, and there is no really good Navigation app in the iPhone. You can get Maps and it will show you a picture but no voice directions. The platform is nothing like Android.

"Simple" does appear to be one of Apple's philosophy's on devices, including the Iph. The general criticism is Apple took an OS dumbed it down so that teen girls can use it. It's been working for them, so I'm sure they don't care.

Not for everybody. And you can't change the iPhone default web browser without jailbreaking it.
Safari ain't half bad, but what does bother me about it is there's very few settings available. For example, I want to tell it to NOT auto-reload web pages, since I'm on an IpT, didin't have internet everyone I went, and trying to re-load a web page without internet access would mean I'd lose the page completely. Another annoyance was there was no way to search for text on the page, which is one thing I find handy on a desktop PC or my Android.

Different strokes for different folks. I started on iPhone and converted to Android, and have no intention of ever going back. While my mom and brother both have iPhones and love them and have no intention of switching to Android. Hope you enjoy your iPhone!
