Help IPhone style pop up push notifications

My previous phone was an iPhone 4s. I had notifications on my phone thst alerted me about things such as sports scores through the sports center app I checked off what I want to be alerted about but nothing pops up on my screen with the sports center sound like on my iphone. Is this an issue in the app or does nothing pop up like on the iphone? my friends s4 works just fine with the pop up
 
I just double checked and I have my favorite teams alerts set to on. what are the options you have selected. II just reinstalled so I guess we will see if that helps
 
I actually just mean in general I get nothing for notifications from sportscenter. from email and Facebook I at least get an icon in the notification bar. the only thing I get on the lock screen are texts and calls. IIt's pretty much the only thing I miss about my iphone. the notifications.

Slidelock does the job for notifications on your lock screen.

FlashScore does the job for football scores, favourite games / teams etc. it pushes goals through in about 5 seconds.
 
i miss the notifications feature from my iPhone 4. so i installed Notify Lite then purchased Notify Plus for $1.99. i'm still playing around with some of the settings, but it's doing the job so far. there is also a Notify Pro for $2.49 that lets you put notifications on snooze (at night, for instance). i'm still debating on whether to get that one. i feel like Plus and Pro should be one app.
