IPHONE texts

I switched from an iphone to a Samsung galaxy 4 on 10/01/13. Since then I am not getting texts from some people who have iphones, but I am getting them from 1 friend who has an iphone. Why is this and how can it be corrected??
 
The problem is not with your phone, but with the friends whose texts you are not receiving.

Almost certainly they are not using SMS to text you but iMessage, which only works between iOS devices. They may not even be aware they are doing this. They'll need to check their settings to make sure they send messages to you via standard SMS.
