Help Is 3g throttled?

I'm using prl 9033 to get 3g here in Baton Rouge, but I can't seem to get over 300kbps anymore. When I first installed the PRL I was getting around 2500kbps. I've noticed that when I take a speedtest, the needle rises up to around 1000k like normal, pauses for a couple of seconds, then drops down to below 300k. I haven't been using 3g data too much (I have extremely fast wi-fi at home and wireless at school.)

I don't think it is, but I know its slow lol. :p

It also depends on where you live. In the Dallas area, I was getting any where from .8 Meg to 1.3 Meg for download speeds, on 3G. Now that I'm on 4G, I'm getting 5 - 8 Meg.

I don't think that's the problem. I was getting decent speeds before.

So my new Billing cycle started and I'm getting the same problem. If I call Metro, would they be of any help or not (since I'm not supposed to be using 3g anyways)

Well your running on Sprint 3G so its probably throttled. How long have you been living in an extended home area?
I would advise you not to call because they'll probably get suspicious since 1) 9033 PRL hasnt been released yet. (2) They'll probably put a yellow flag on your account if you've been living in an extended home area a long time. Remember this from the TOS:
Off-net Usage. ---------Services & Plans are designed for you to use your service each month predominantly using our networks. If your minutes of use, text messaging or data usage are not predominantly on our network ("off-net usage") excessive, abnormally high, or cause MetroPCS to incur too much cost, MetroPCS may, at its option & sole discretion, terminate your service, deny your continued use of other carriers' coverage, or change your Plan. MetroPCS will provide you in advance notice that it intends to take any of the above actions.

Yeah, I'm surprised they haven't kicked me off already, since I've had this phone for about 5 months. That's why I can't wait for this merger so I can switch to a GSM phone.
