is 4gb a lot of gigs?

There are 1024 megs in a gig, and generally a music file on a computer is 4-5 megs, and many of my phone camera pics are less than a meg each. That should help you decide if 4 gigs is enough for your requirements.

4 gigs is actually a very less amount....but it is only according to me..it depends on what you use the phone for ! razr(mine is yet to reach my hands:mad::mad:) comes with 16gigs internally but i have ordered 32gigs along with it...it totally depends on what and how you use it

You have state 4-5 megs for songs...have you tried flac format files ?
all chipsets of latest phones can render them and they are lossless too...if you havent tried them yet...do try them and feel the difference in clarity and content
 
Are you asking about the 4gb in reference to a data plan of 4gb/month with your provider?

If so then no, 4gb is not enough if you are using apps everyday on 4G or 3G network over air. I can go thru 30gb a month easily BUT with all the Wi-Fi hot spots out there, Wi-Fi at home and office, there is no reason to even go thru 2gb/month if you use data sucking apps thru Wi-Fi.

Now, if you are on the road all the time, traveling and using 4G/3G for say navigation in your car, music (Ex: Slacker or Pandora), or other apps which need to stream over air to pick up data, then without Wi-Fi, you are screwed as you will eat up those 4gb in no time.

Just my $0.02.

There are flac players in the market, but those two worked on my Droid (1) but won't on the razr. Both will let me select a song but andless just stops after hitting play, meridian does the same three or four times then finally plays. I just tried Winamp and it says my flac file isn't supported.

I find that I rarely use over 1G of data myself because I have wifi in 99% of the places I go and don't do any streaming anymore.
 
4gig in terms of data usage is decent depending on your use. I have only hit that mark one time when I was doing a ton of streaming, but for normal every day use (which of course is relative) it is enough for me. But in no way will I give up my unlimited plan with Verizon.

The biggest question is how much are you going to stream?

I shall let you know once i get my hands on the set...but knowing that flac has so much problems with being played in razr saddens me

I just ran a quick search thru the forums and found that poweramp and subpar/buggy play flac without any problems....have u tried them yet?

Have you tried ttpod and kugou ? I used to have them on my nokia and on their site i remember seeing an android version too.
 
Lets start a sep more updated flac thread, the last time I checked this forum I hadn't heard of any of those newer players.
