Is a tablet really "useful" or is it just a novelty?

I agree with the above... its not necessary, but it is very useful.

I never touch my laptop anymore. I carry this thing EVERYWHERE, and have all my books, music, and movies right there.

I'm a convert. I will probably never buy another actual computer again... a tablet and a phone is all I need... next go round, I may try to combine with one of those Phablet thingies.

I like computer games to much to give up my desktop or laptops.

Plus I'm a programmer and it's easier to do on a computer.

Who said novelty can't be useful? Since purchasing my N7 I've opened my netbook once, and that was just to get a file off of it. My tablet goes with me everywhere. Add to it a phone with a hotspot feature, and you can do pretty much anything at any time!
