Is anyone stock here

I'm in the same boat. Not enough gain from the ROMs yet, and I can't live without vib. I have rooted to delete lots of the apps I don't use, and still have plenty of room left, so A2SD wouldn't help me. I only wish for a longer battery life, but I'm not going to turn every feature off to achieve it.

Check out the Tips and Tricks thread for my tip on improving battery life by removing the batterystats.bin file.

So I'm playing with the Stock 1.6 on the BH2, 12 hour's into it with everything on, Battery is at 50% which seems to be Better than the 1.5 Stock on the BH2. Still waiting on my Source for a Release Date, but I'm going to start prepping this for an Odin when the Time is right for Releasing..

Sounds great, but I think most battery issues are either bugs/tweaks needed in the os and the batterystats.bin having bad stats in it, thus deleting it/retraining gives better life in my opinion.

Oh and thanks for all your work. I havent used any of your mods yet, still on the fence cus I just use the camera app too much and cant live without vibration.

lol, yeah I know the Bug's haha.... I just was say that on the initial Flash with no Mod's of any Kind, the battery don't seem to be so bad, & that having everything on you can think of :D

That sounds like decent battery life to me. I really am excited to see the stock 1.6 cause I like twiz...I know I know I'm crazy, right?

Your not crazy, because I also liked it. It's better then having what every other android phone has. Also the battery life is HORRIBLE. Ive been charging in between car trips to places and It still died 9 hours later.

I am still on stock but I just got my Behold 2 a couple weeks ago and this is my first ever Android.. I really want to root it because of everything it helps.. but I really can't talk myself into it even though I have been researching it since I got my phone and I understand its really hard to brick lol.. Anybody got some convincing arguments as to why I should do it? And I don't know anyone who has done it so I think that's part of the reason why I'm hesitant haha..

Do it. lol. There are plenty of threads that, in detail, describe what you need to do to get odin on your computer, and the drivers for odin to recognize the behold2, and there are PLENTY of roms to flash which all greatly improve performance over a stock behold 2. The best as of right now being stock 1.6 NoTwiz rom. It's safe as long as you cover your bases, research it, and there is also a behold2 irc chat for live help should you need it.
Hope I helped, because no one should have to suffer through a bone stock behold 2. ;)

Chances of bricking the phone are very little... the only way you would brick would be putting the wrong files into ODIN... which is unlikely if you follow the directions on the threads.

The threads have the directions. It's quite simple.

Open ODIN --> Place files in proper locations in ODIN --> Turn Off Phone--> Plugin Phone to USB --> Phone into Download Mode (vol down + OK + END) --> Install Drivers --> Press Start on ODIN --> Enjoy!
what is odin and what does it do? you say open odin...where?

sorry for being off topic . but im a newbie and dont know how to make a topic so here goes my off topic question.lmfao.

my behold 2 all of a sudden today in the morning and then stopped for a while but now currently at night the behold 2 keeps giving me frustrating annoying like every 30 secs notif in the top bar with sounds saying preparing external sd card and then one that says installing sd card and then sometimes just make sounds about it without no words .

f.y.i i havent done any root or anything or update cus i cant do it from my behold 2 via wi-fi

anyways is there a fix for this ?

would thank anyone a bunch .

plz answer me fast

I am stock. I love this phone so far it does everything I want.

I have open home and better keyboard, Quick Dial, xScope G Browser, Handcent SMS, ebuddy for chat, Itweet, TeleNav, Movies, Mysettings, Activity Express Task manager, moment flash for recording video in low light, evernote, Astro, S2 Calendar widget, One Click Add Event, Toddler Lock, TFLN, Dopewars, Barcode Scanner and Shopper. Facebook/android is kinda lame it force closes on me often, but I like the facebook touch on the mobile web just fine.

I don't really understand why I would want to mess with reprogramming the thing. Will it make my bluetooth voice dial? that is the only thing that drives me crazy.
What benefit would there be?

One thing would be that Google Maps in 1.6 has Turn by Turn Navigation spoken to you at no additional cost (unlike TeleNav).

Oh, and (assuming you're uring 1.6 NoTwiz or 1.6 Galaxy) a general overall speed increase.

When I signed up for TeleNav they had a special--first 60 days of usage for "FREE" and thereafter a $2.99 per month charge, I don't know if they still offer that but $2.99 is a fantastic deal the features and ui make it worth it (i probably would have had a cheap attack and passed on the 9.95/mo but now that I have used it I see that it would have been worth that as well!)

 well telenav at $2.99 p/m still costs more than google nav for free!;) IMO free is better especially since it has all the same features telenav brings, by the way. telenav isn't bringing anything extra to the table, so again, IMO, 50 cents is too much to pay when you can get the same for free.

Does telenav have satellite layer for maps? buzz? latitude?

I like having the satellite view in navigation, where I can see that gas station or set of buildings that I need to turn at ... the only thing better would be a 3D satellite view.

In all fairness I thought i would check out some of the features of google maps navigation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGXK4jKN_jY
It looks like a really cool program.

Right now the Telenav is working well for me and I will keep in mind that 1.6+ will let use the free Google navigation, I am still not convinced that i should mess with my phones programming to achieve this, honestly is is scary to me and probably many others to start meddling with the phone I love so much.

      • Voice directions
      • 3D turn-by-turn moving maps and arrows
      • Will automatically reroute you if you take a wrong turn
      • Traffic alerts and rerouting specific to your route
      • Speech-recognition for address entry
      • 10 million business listings (including gas prices)
      • and online input that syncs with phone is cool too
My stock phone still trumps any other phone I have ever owned and many phones that are on the market now. I am a happy camper and would totally recommend this phone stock or otherwise to anyone that asks :)

Will modding my phone allow me to use my Plantronics Discovery 925 bluetooth to voice dial? That would make me consider modding my phone now instead of patiently waiting for the next upgrade. ;)
