Is Epic Stealing The Crown From Evo As Sprints Top Dog handset?

FWIW, I called Sprint last night to get a replacement EVO and yapped a bit with the CSR, he said, "The Epic is on a 6 month back log and stores were instructed to stop taking pre-orders. By the time you can get your hands on an Epic without a pre-order, there will be something newer out."

Not really saying anything, just sayin...

So basically, it's another EVO! :D

first off lol that makes no sense. how would it be on a 6mon back log if Sprint took pre-orders and then stopped when all pre-orders were filled? that's why they stopped taking pre-orders, so they could fulfill them. second, every store (including bestbuy, radioshack, etc) will be shipped an on hand amount for walkins.

and most importantly, i wouldn't believe a Sprint store associate ever ha. when looking for the Evo car dock, i called a few stores with the sku in hand. one store told me they couldn't look up skus (lie) and another store told me it wasn't in their system. so, i called the store in a completely different state where everyone was getting the official car dock from and sure enough, they charged me for it and had one shipped out to me.

so, i'd take that statement with the biggest grain of salt you can imagine.

Ive been using a touchscreen phone ever since the instinct came out... cant imagine ever going back to using a physical keyboard. I wonder how much longer phones with physical keyboards will be around for.

I need a Keyboard; too many emails, DOCs etc to type when out on the road or whatever...

(that was real Girly of the one who made the Girl comment)...

Even tho most of us prefer the Evo over the Epic, it appears it has stole the thunder from the Evo. Me personally, I don't need a keyboard anymore. Plus I'm not writing papers on my cell phone anyway. Evo is still my 1st choice.
Not sure who "most of us" includes, since this is not the EVO forum, but safe to say there are plenty who prefer to purchase the EPIC. Doesn't have to be a contest, different people like different things.

This is the most important thing about android phones. Different phones and options for different people. *I* do sometimes need to type out a paper or long email with my phone. So, I have an android phone with a keyboard.

I don't use the keyboard all that much. But to have it as an option for when I need it has made the Epic look like the phone I have always wanted.

I will bet my next pay check that we all have our screens laid out differently and use different apps, widgets, and launchers that might all do the same basic functions. But android gives us the option to have things the way we want them - or close to how we want them.

It makes me excited to own an android phone.

LOVIN IT:D

I gotta get used to not havin Hard keys but I love it; I'd had it about 3.5 hrs now & like it 100x's better than the moment already...
