Help Is FoxFi Safe?

xguy

Android Enthusiast
I have been using PDANET tethering for quite sometime and so far not detected. Foxfi would be so much easier if I can still go undetected.

Is anyone using Foxfi?

So how long did you use it and did you go undetected?

I used it for a couple of years on my 1st Galaxy S, and maybe a year on my current S5....

I don't quite know how they could detect that it is being used.... I never had any problems with Verizon yelling at me that I was "out of line" with their contract. :)

Data is just data, how your phone accesses data is irrelevant.... how could they know that your phone is using data because of FoxFi or just one of the many Android browsers? ( it is this very fact that I was so pissed off at Verizon for that stupid fee they charged for Hotspot ) and exactly why I ignored them and used FoxFi

Yes I was with Verizon for many years and had true unlimited and was grandfathered in up until 4 years ago when I left them. Like you, I couldn't see the big deal about tethering because the way I see it I am Not stealing data but simply transferring it to a larger screen. I live out in the country and tethering or satellite is my only option. On this same forum some thought I was "cheating" and I caught a lotta flax. It does state no tethering in the agreement and I assume it is to charge another fee for Hotspot. I do know many have been busted through the years and hear now they can't prosecute, but I don't know that for sure.
