Help Is it bad to remove your battery when your phone is still on?

Wondering if it is bad to remove the battery before you turn it off instead of turning the phone off and then removing battery.

Well, everything we're dealing with is solid-state, so from that standpoint, you're not going to physically damage anything. That being said, all internal (and the sdcard) partitions are still mounted while the system is running. If anything is being written to (or sometimes just in general), you run the risk of losing data or corrupting the system if you abruptly shutdown the system while partitions are still mounted. Granted, there are some cases where you need to do this. Sometimes the system just locks up and become unresponsive, and nothing else works. That's fine. But know that if you're just doing this because you can't be bothered to take the extra few seconds it takes to shutdown cleanly, you could very easily lose data or even make the system unbootable. Is that likely? Probably not, but you take a risk every time you do it.
