Help Is it faster now that it's 2.2?

I was told that Transform will be updated with 2.2 today. I was wondering if anyone can comment on the performance. I'm considering switching from Optimus S.
 
That is not the Transform, that would be the Samsung Intercept, the Transform is still waiting for it's 2.2 update.

If you can live without the front facing camera and a physical keyboard get the optimus S and don't look back. I had a transform and HATED it. Very slow, laggy, heavy, 2.1 sucked on it, no forseable update for 2.2, internet was slow. Just overall sucked. I switched to the Optimus S and it is like night and day! Great fit in your hand, light weight, very responsive, internet plenty fast, great looking screen, android 2.2, swype, decent enough camera, and camcorder. I cannot say enough good things about the Optimus S. I am telling everyone looking to upgrade to get one. You will not be dissapointed.
 
I would have to disagree, I like my Transform very much. And yes I played with the Optimus S, and I did not like it worse or better. About the same to me really. And 2.2 should be coming out soon. As to when, hopefully by the end of the year id not early part of next year.
 
well i got the optimus s for free with a 2 year renewal about 3 weeks ago and now i realize that i really need the physical keyboard. i think i have 30 days to return/exchange it and i was hoping to find out whether the transform would function better with 2.2 (considering the reports of how slow it is with 2.1) but that looks like it's not going to happen even though a guy at a sprint kiosk told me they were getting updated this week..and on top of that the price for the transform just went up to $149
 
Hehe, to those who got the Optimus S because the Transform was prhaps too slow? I take that as a joke, when the Transform gets 2.2, our 800mghz processer will pretty much totally outspeed the Optimus S with its very mediocre 600mghz processer, and once we get 2.2 within the next few weeks, I think that the optimus S users will regret their choice, I got the Transform because I knew 2.2 would speed up this phone indefinately, pacience is a virtue, and its one that's about to pay off. ;)
 
@ The android, I have to agree with you 100%, not to mention being a Gen 2 800mhz. Hopefully 2.2 comes out before years end.
 
Your facts are wrong, your thinking of the new Optimus X2 which still has yet to be released, we are talking about the Optimus S, which is not a dual core phone...
 
So it is ehh? Well I usually don't check out mid-range phone specs anyhow, but the bottom line even if its dual core, 600mghz doesn't do the trick for me, and my sister has the optimus S, it still lags even in games like angry birds. (even though we Transform users won't have Angry Birds till we're in 2.2 perhaps)

Angry Birds works pretty well on the Transform, I was in the Sprint store the other day and it was downloaded on their floor model and it played just fine on the "clean" iD pack (basic android).
 
That would probably be Angry Birds Seasons... I use that on my Transform since Rovio decided the Transform's hardware isn't 'capable' of handling Angry Birds in good latency.
 
Wow really. No regular angry birds on Transform. That sux. I was going to get this for my gf and that was one of the game she loves on my phone. The season version wont cut it with her. I hope the Intercept can do it since it has 2.2 now.

For a non-techy girl who loves Angry Birds, a pink Intercept should do the trick man. The Transform doesn't exactly strike me as a girl's phone anyhow.
 
Damnnn! Transform has a lot of haters out there.. I wonder why haha
If the phone really did suckd, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't b tlking bout it rite now..
