i have to buy a whole new device. I had an zt-180, then moved up to the kyros 7022, now the A100. Looks like i will have to get a whole new tablet to run ICS...

The Acer Iconia A100 tablet? I'd be willing to bet that Acer updates their A100s and A500 series tablets to ICS, but it may be a month or two later than other manufacturers.

Also, if you want ICS, I'd be willing to bet that the rooting community would be able to put ICS on it. Acer tablets are ridiculously easy to root and then flash a ROM/kernel. So there are alternatives to buying a new device every time you want a software update.

Check out the Acer A100 section: Acer Iconia Tab A100 - Android Forums

The other two devices I've never even heard of. The problem with getting more obscure devices is that the manufacturers are less likely to update the software. If you want major software updates, I'd stick with HTC, Samsung, or Motorola devices, personally.

But we have a subsection for the ZT-180: Zenithink ZT-180 - Android Forums
