Is it me or is 4.0.4 a bit buggy?

I've had random reboots, lock ups where I've had to remove the battery, launcher crashing. I have reset and all the rest after upgrading. I am on stock unrooted BTW

No its not just you, this last update is the worst one for me. I've had all the same symptoms as you. My s2 won't connect too wifi again, that's after I've reset the phone 3 times.

Samsung really need to sort this one out very quickly.

I have no clue why some ppl like this update it is horrible
I'm checking kies everyday for a new patch

If you are rooted it would be very easy to flash a gb based Rom.

If you aren't rooted, there's usually no way to roll back for most devices

the first ICS is actually not bad, i'm talking about 4.0.1 and 4.0.3
it's the 4.0.4 that has problems all over

Try to do a factory reset and clear the cache. It usually resolves a lot of booting issues caused by clashing of firmwares.

Press Power+Home+Vol up to get to a menu where you have options to do just that. Just remember to backup everything that you can before doing that.

If factory reset don't resolve it, then I am not sure what else can cause it. Might have to use ODIN to flash the latest firmware and see if that helps.

Oh... read that some people have issues with their microSD card. After factory reset, try testing it without one.

I installed CM9 which runs 4.0.4 and I am still having issues, is it my phone perhaps? Scrolling is sluggish and yesterday had a total lock up again, had to remove the battery:mad:

I've had 4.0.4 for the best part of a week, updated via KIES, and have had absolutely no problems at all so far.
In fact, the only difference I've noticed up to now is improved battery performance.
My GS2 is unbranded international version, bought while passing through Hong Kong airport, so no Carrier's bloatware installed.

I updated to 4.04 XEU csc last week, but I've noticed a couple of times that the phone has not automatically connected to wifi when it becomes available, but will sit using up my data instead. I did a factory reset and wiped my phone completely before I updated.

Yesterday I downgraded to 2.3.5 and I do notice a difference in battery life and performance already, OK GB isn't as sexy looking as ICS but performance is greatly improved.

Yes it is, 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 terrible in my SG2, wifi problems, reboots, lock ups, hot battery....I'm back on gingerbread 4.3.6 and its like a new phone again, buttery smooth and rock steady
