Help Is it okay to leave the phone plugged in all night?

I wouldn't have thought to ask this, except last night once the batter was fully charged, the phone woke up and a message said something like "The phone is fully charged. Unplug the device," or something to that effect.

So I was wondering, does it hurt to leave it plugged in when it's fully charged? I would imagine most of us leave them plugged in over night.

Is this just a friendly message or does it actually mean something?

Thanks.

Don't know about you, but if my phone wakes me up in the middle of the night and tells me that I can't leave it plugged in, it better have breakfast ready for me!

I left mine plugged in over night last night and this morning the phone had gone but megan fox was present :/

I'd say that was a pretty fair trade.

Modern batteries will not be harmed by being plugged in for a long time. I did this literally every night for the two years I owned my S2 and the battery functioned almost as well when I sold it as it did the day I bought it. Added to which, replacement batteries are cheap and, fortunately for us, replaceable on our phone.

I do not think you will be doing much damage to the battery nor your phone. With current technology, phones are able to limit the current being flown to the battery in order to prevent overcharging and causing damages.
