Is it possible to connect my G3 to my laptop?

BustedLG

Lurker
So my phone was dropped and the screen busted and now is blacked out. I replaced the phone, but I need to get some pictures and contacts and some phone numbers from my recent call log off the G3.

The screen is still responsive, as I can hear the tones when doing my slide pass code, but I just can't see anything. Is there any way to connect my phone to my laptop (MAC) so I can see the screen and turn on USB debugging so I can transfer pictures and contacts off my phone?

Hopefully a cord I can pick up at Best Buy / Target / Wal-Mart / etc.

Phone is a LG G3
Carrier is Verizon

Thank you in advance all!

Hi, welcome. You shouldn't need USB Debugging to transfer photos. When you connect it, your computer should create a directory. As long as the proper drivers are available.

Your Mac should have a USB port (idk, never seen one) . You can use the charging cable to connect.

Thanks for your response BG:

Anytime I ever connected via the charging cord, I had to tell the phone to act as a USB memory device to show up on my Mac. (Something to do with Verizon, from what I can tell) So, I need to be able to see the screen. Again, my phone screen is damaged, so I'm flying blind with getting into settings, etc.

So...is there a way to see the phone screen on my computer or TV or anything?

I'm not sure I'm following. You need to have USB Debugging Enabled and an app install on the device in or to Mirror it. Neither of which are likely to happen. How many photos are we talking about here? Do you have a Google account?

several hundred photos and contacts. I'd also like to view my recent call history in order to get some phone numbers that I hadn't saved out.

I do have a google account...but none of the above was backed up.

Google will have stored your contacts at the very least. As for recent calls, if nothing else, look at your bill. As for your computer displaying the device as a drive, that is an option I have to select when I plug the phone into my computer using a charging cable. I don't have a Mac, so I don't know if the options are the same, but you could try plugging it into your computer and charging the options blindly (they'll show up in your notification bar). Good luck.
