Is it possible to disable the home button from waking screen from sleep mode (non rooted)?

...i mean, that's what the power button is for, right?

the button takes you to your home screen... that's a good thing.

but when it runs your battery down because it wakes up your screen periodically because it's in your pocket, that's not a good thing. :(

after searching, i see where a solution was found but you have to be rooted.

does anyone know how to disable this feature without having to be rooted?

thank you.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I had the same problem before I got my bumper case. Now the phone's front is slight lower than the bumper and the front button doesn't get pushed accidentally anymore.

I use Proximity Screen Off Pro (free no root) It will turn the screen off when you place the phone with screen down or put it in your pocket. It has a setting that will override the power button and home button if it is pressed while in your pocket, the screen will only come on for a second. Works great with the GN2.
