Help Is it possible to do a fresh firmware install without voiding warranty?

Hi folks. I'm just thinking about the way the OS is updated by means of software update patches as opposed to a complete wipe and re-install of a fresh version of the entire OS. The patch idea is great as its much faster and provided it works then all is good but I guess there is always potential for little glitches along the way. I factory rest after an upgrade but still this may not solve all issues.

So, is it possible to reinstall the entire software? So for example, when 4.1.2 is released install the whole thing rather than an update patch adding onto the 4.1.1 update which added on to the 4.0.4 etc.... I suppose this is like how the iphone used to do it. It took a while but I liked that feeling of 'fresh software.

Can I get it direct through Keis or is it always just a patch update? I notice sam mobile supply the firmwares. Can I get one and update via Keis? If I get the correct one including branding for my carrier then will my warranty be in tact or will getting it like this void warranty? I use a mac if that matters.

If theres no easy solution I'll just stick with patch update then reset but I'll give fresh install a go if possible. Thanks!

Yes you can download full ROMs and flash them using odin without voiding warranty. Just make sure you flash the one thats for your phone. Any info?

thanks. so would the firmware come from sam mobile or elsewhere? And do you know if there is an Oddin solution for mac? Seem to remember looking at oddin in the past and it was windows only. Appreciate the help!

sammobile has most of them. You'd want to match to your build number.

As for Mac, cant help there I'm afraid.
