Root is it rooted?

How do I know whether or not I successfully rooted my phone. I followed some directions I found through a link. My computer showed that it went through all of the steps and my phone rebooted. However, I have no idea what it's supposed to look like when it's rooted. And, I downloaded busybox, but when I get into busy box and try to install it I get a message that says something about not being able to locate certain things and that my phone may not be properly rooted. It says: "I am unable to verify whether or no certain utilities needed for this application to run are present and functional on your device. This problem could be caused by a device that is not properly rooted or by superuser settings that are misconfigured." any help?

I used this link: How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Precedent on Straight Talk (One-Click Method) - TheUnlockrTheUnlockr for the root. I did not see the screen you referred me to so I'm guessing it didn't work. Now, the link for titanium backup. What is this? is this going to root my phone? It said something about backing up my phone. Does this mean that it will backup my phone for me? if not, how exactly do I backup my phone? Also, the main reasons for rooting my phone is to tether wifi and to remove some things like facebook and google books. Am I wasting my time? Clearly, I do not know much about what I am attempting to do. But, I'm intelligent and could do this with a few pointers....

Thank You!!

Kyle

Titanium will back up your apps to an SD Card. In the event you need to rest your phone back to 'out of the box' on whatever ROM you're using you can use it to restore the apps and data you had.

It's a 'root only' app so I suggested it as it won't work unless you have root access to your phone. If it doesn't work then your rooting didn't work.

It's also very good for removing apps you can't normally uninstall. I've used it a lot, on a bunch of different ROMS on my phone. Be careful though, removing some apps could kill your phone, though it's unlikely if you stick to what you see in your phone's app menu.

Titanium Backup > Backup/Restore > *Select an App from the list* > Uninstall!

That will remove almost any program on your phone.

FYI: The only wireless tether app I could ever get working for anything I own was this one:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether&hl=en

Simple and solid app.

I rooted my phone with this one:

I just found it easier to understand. Both ways seems to work though.
