my logic on it is based on their push for VoLTE overall, the connect 4g was the first VoLTE device out, then they had required updates for several older phones. as well as using joyn and tmobiles wifi calling i could see them increasing their VoLTE foothold as it is the way all carriers are aiming to go. this is a theory though and they could just shut it all down and offer trade in like program etc.
The thing is that was before the whole t mobile acquisition. I have not heard a peep about volte. At this point this company is going the way t mobile wants it to go.
