Help is jelly bean out for SGS2? if not when will it be?

This is android's problem. If a phone is more than capable of running an update, it is inexcusable for there never to be another update for that device. It's unrealistic to expect people to buy a new phone every year.

If the phone has ics, there is a chance it could get jb. If it doesn't have official ics yet, its probably never going to get jb.

Jb is an incremental update for ics.

Yea, rooting and installing a custom ROM is your best bet. But wait a month or so before u attempt that. I think there is an Alpha/Beta version of JB for the SGS2, but Google Now doesnt work, along with most likely wifi and camera and a list of other features. Hold of for now if you can, I know how hard it is.

Well, there's no "official" one way or the other until sammy say different, but don't hold your breath either way. To be honest, once the delay of any confirmation, then more development time and finally rolling out to carriers for testing and to add their special (sic) goodies, it'll be time for an upgrade. Many will have moved on by that time or gone the way of custom roms.
Nexus device all the way next time around for me
