Is Jellybean REALLY worth it?

Some of you are going completely insane about this, I mean i want JB as bad as the next guy but there is some of you going apeshi* about it. What is gonna be so good about it anyways that most of you are dying for?

Its always like this with a new release.

You too have posted a "whens jellybean" thread. You're all as bad as each other ;)

Being around android for the last several years, there are 2 things that are always happening. everyone complaining that the newest update isnt on their phone yet, then just as many people complaining that the update did something they dont like and want to go back. its why i always tell people to buy a phone for what it has right now, cause its going to be that way for a long time, dont count on updates

Project butter.

Once you have it you can't go back:D

Also, most people that have issues with an ota just need to take a page from us rooters and do a factory reset ;)

The real question is why do YOU want it so bad? You state you want it as bad as the next guy, and that EVERYONE wants it so bad; so that means "the next guy" is EVERYONE.

You say you dont know why they want it so bad; and you want it as bad as everyone else. How can you want it so bad yet dont know why you want it?

Yet u didn't even answer my question. But I'll answer yours simply put.....I'm just someone that HAS to have the latest updates and so forth. Bet yet u still didn't answer my question …thanks

Because it signals to you that your phone is no longer the latest and greatest thing, and it stings to have to spend another ungodly amount of money to get that "thing", whatever it may be. So, getting an update is the next best thing to buying a new phone.

Why do you "have" to have the latest updates? What happens if you don't? Are features in JB a necessity for what you do in your daily life?

Lol, Hey maybe I'm one of "those" people :D

Everyone gets excited about a new released and its understandable ;)

I'm rooted so I've been on jellybean a while. I love the smoothness and for me, its all about that. I could have moved to jellybean much sooner than I did but it was more important for me that everything I needed worked than to be on jellybean

I tried jellybean and then reverted back to stock. I discovered that Samsung baked much more features into their stock ICS rom. Much more stable and I get better battery life. Yes Jellybean (CWM10) was buttery smooth. But it did suffer from occasional glitches and incompatibilities. I will be waiting for the official jellybean build.

Jellybean CM10 is a leap backwards from samsung stock. The official samsung is the same as ICS but smoother

Well, I was waiting to give it a go, but was never going to get frantic about it. I mean, I like ice-cream and I like sandwiches, but an ice-cream sandwich? Come on! There again, I'm not at all fond of Jelly Beans. Roll on Key Lime Pie!

Hell yes. Google Now is the future of Android..love that shit. And why wouldn't you want he latest software on your device when it's only going to enhance it and improve it. No brainer.

but does these upgrades to the newest thing matter if your useing something other than the stock touch wiz? im useing ADW Launcer EX. i dont see any of ICS now that i notice? so is it reall worht the hassle of updating to JB?

You still are running ics even if you have a different launcher installed.

There are large performance differences between jellybean and ics. Everything is faster and smoother. Also, google now rocks

so far i would say no - but then ive only had it installed for 30 mins and the update stuffed my phone up - ie really slow and crashy :( just done factory reset - so shall see how things progress

I have JB on my tablet and am really diggin' Google now and search. The voice search of google now will truly makes typing in a google search obsolete if it works on the S3 as well as on my Nexus 7. And it's so cool to have my Google searches from my laptop appear on my tablet.
