Is LTE+/LTE-A the same thing as 5Ge?

Ok, so I heard that LTE-Advanced is the same thing as 5Ge, is this true? I also heard that LTE+ is the same thing as LTE-A. With LTE+ I get 78.3 Download and 19.2 Upload, and my friend with 5Ge gets around the same speeds, but his phone says 5Ge.

I contacted Cricket Wireless, and I confirmed that my phone can support 5Ge and 5G.

Thanks.

LTE-A is not the same as 5G, but given that some US carriers claimed that HSDPA+ was 4G I would not put it past their marketing teams trying that trick again

Yeah, I'm talking about 5Ge

So "5GE" is really just AT&T's and Cricket's bullshit marketing term for 4G+ (LTE Advanced).

Doesn't the US have laws against deceptive advertising?

The U.S. carriers can just make up a term like "5g+" or whatever. How they define it is in the "small print" of the contract.
Deceptive? Yes most definitely .

Illegal? Unfortunately no
