Is making certain types of Android themes legal?

Just wondering since I have seen some themes for certain products(Games or movies) that are being sold that uses images or sounds from the movies or games(I've seen some uncharted or resident evil ones).

I am new to making themes so I would just like to know before I started making themes using images.

Nope, any use of copyright material without express permission of the rights holder is an infringement.

(So there's no confusion, I'm speaking as a photographer and not a mod )
