Is my battery situation normal?

Got a white S3 from AT&T yesterday. Salesperson told me there is a glitch with a small % of the white ones when charging.

I got it at 60% battery, and it was at 15 by the time I went to sleep. Turned it off at night and fully charged overnight. Unplugged at 6:30 to have it show 99% charge. A 20 min phone call later and it was at 90%. Had another 15 min phone call and now at 8:58am, 2.5 hours after taking it off after a full overnight charge it's at 77%. I've talked for a total of 35 min.

This seems very weak to me, is there something I can do? This phone was advertised with having a giant battery life. I don't think 35 min of talking is enough to bring it down by almost 25%.

I would like to join this question as well, not that i had this problem since i don't own this device, yet, but I would like to know these sort of problems before getting it.

I had a HTC One X, and after a full days heavy use it would still show like 50% battery, so I don't know what I can do to make the battery stronger, or is there is a certain model that doesn't have a battery glitch.

Its way too early to judge since you just got the phone yesterday. Give the battery a good week to get " the juices " flowing so to speak.

At face value, I would say you have an issue. I don't remember the exact numbers, but yesterday my phone was unplugged about 16-17 hours with slightly over an hour of talk as well as misc other use browser, texts, etc and I ended the day in the mid 40s.

Your trouble shooting when its way too early. Give it a couple of days. Battery life should get better each day.

I would give it a couple days, but on the surface it looks like you have a problem with your battery. It all depends on how much you use your phone too... but most days I have 60% left when i get off work with average usage, which means the phone has been unplugged for 9-10 hours. But sometimes when im really busy at work and use my phone a minimal amount, i can get through those 9 hrs on 20% of battery. I dont even use power-saver..

My S3 is the i9300 international version, used on AT&T network (no LTE, only H+).

Oh, im in the same boat as you. I just came from the HTC ONE X.. And if your S3 is getting less battery than the ONE X, you certainly have an issue with the battery on the S3. Either that, or your just using the S3 alot more because its new.

For me, battery life on the S3 was a huge upgrade over the one x.

Cell standby is at 51%, Phone is off the charger for 3hrs and 22min. One 15 min phone call today. Battery is 91%

Is this cell standby % an error known with the SGS3?

I am curious of the stand by also, i have sent 3 texts, gmail and wordfeud alerts are coming through, thats about it. its been off the charger since 7:30 am and when i checked under battery settings this was at 44%. my battery is at 85% now. im not complaining, just curious as i never really paid that much attention to this before.

Battery is at 91% = 9% used.
Of that used 9%, Standby has used 51%. That is, standby has used .51 * .09 of the total battery life - or 4.6%.
