Root Is my g1 Bricked? please help

Hi guys, I have a g1 which I bought on ebay. The problem is it won't load past the g1 t-mobile screen. It can get into fastboot, and my friend tried to boot it back to rc29 but said it wouldn't open up the correct recovery. Is it bricked? What can I do? Should I borrow an sd card to try DREAIMG.nbh?
I'm in the UK if that helps.

The fact you can get to fastboot indicates your phone isnt bricked.

Without knowing the current setup of your phone, yes, borrow an sd card to try DREAIMG.nbh (I am assuming you have no SD card)

Should I use the rc7 or the rc29?
I'm in the UK and rc7 is the uk version, but my friend said rc29 worked for him.

I am in no way an expert (have rooted & flashed 2 G1s) but if RC29 didnt work, try RC7.

As I understand, RC version isnt based on your physical location but where the phone was 'built' (for want of a better word) aka T-Mobile USA OR T-Mobile UK. Obviously, your friends phone is from the US because RC29 worked for him.

I dont think there is anyway of finding out via the fastboot screen where your phone comes from.
