So I just got a RAZR MAXX on Thursday, the day it came out. I've had multiple issues that is leading me to think it's a defective product.
1. My battery life is almost the same as my old Samsung Fascinate, which has a 1500 mAh battery. Now I know this is not a fair comparison as it's single core, 3g so dual core 4g but to be honest I was expecting a bit more from that 3300 mAh battery. And so was Motorola when they claimed 21 hours talk time, and CNet played a video for 19 hours straight before it died.
My battery died in 24 hours, with most of that in standby mode. I'm not sure how to take screen shots but I'm looking at the battery use graph and it's saying 1d 1h on battery, GPS off, WiFi off, screen was barley on as I was in school and the phone was in my locker all day. Android OS 34%, display is 33% and phone idle is 9%.
2. The widgets are buggy. They never update, my clock widget is always couple minutes behind the correct time (I know it's not the clock itself as it is the same one I had on my Fascinate and never had any problems with it). When I open a folder widget, the widget disappears sometimes. When I put on a new widget, I have to turn off the screen and turn back on to get the widget to show up. I also have a sticky note widget that I use and when I update it, I have to move it to a new spot and re-size it before the new notes show up. The sticky note widget is preloaded on the phone. (I'm using the stock launcher.)
I'm sorry this is a long read, but it's just disappointing to receive a brand new phone that's already more buggy than your old phone. I know the phone is brand new in general, but the software is not. The software is the exact same as the original Motorola RAZR, which has been out for a couple months now.
