Is my SD card bad?

I'm on Verizon 4.3

All of a sudden, a few apps are acting up. Es file, cam scan, zedge, and hanging with friends.

I had them on my SD card, but they no longer work, unless I put them on the main memory. Not sure if my SD card just got corrupted, or if the new updates of these apps are screwing with SD card bc of kit cat programming?
 
Wondering if it's updates to these apps which have them Kit Kat ready? Maybe all apps have to be on internal?

I think apps on the SD card are really just for storage. You have to move them back to the phone to use them.
I'd have to research this though to be sure.
 
Moving the app back to internal storage would determine if he SD crd went bad. If it did, the app isn't being read right when it's on the SD card and moving it back to internal storage would also read it wrong, so it still won't run.

I suspect that the new versions just dropped the ability to run from the SD card. It might be because you can't do that in Kit Kat, or because it's really difficult in Kit Kat or some other KK-related reason. Or it might be coincidence.

The SD card was never meant to be an extension of internal storage, it's always been intended as a file storage place, not an app run-from place.
 
I'm having the same issue.... but i don't think it's my sd? When I take pics and videos they save and play fine on my sd. All the stuff I have on there from before... pics, vid and everything still work. What my issue is besides a few apps doing the same thing is videos that I download from the Internet won't play when the default location is set to sd card? I get an error saying sorry, this video can't be played. It all started yesterday or the day before. ? Anyone have any ideas?

A few of apps like zedge in the app tray went clear looking...then I click on them and it says it's not installed. Which it was. Then when I download a video to my sd gallery it says sorry this video can't be played. But if I download it to my device storage it will play.
