Hey people.....
The quistion is should i root my phone to free up internal memory and get rid of this annoying error message in the notification bar??? I read that this app called link2sd is like a godsend and helped lots of people but ofcaurse you should be rooted to use it!
Im afraid of rooting my phone since i read that it might be bricked easily or something and make the phone useless ...
I dnt realy know anything about rooting...nothing at all soo.. Can anyone tell me whats its advantages and disadvantages??? Im a total newbie
One more question .. Why shouldnt i move the ex launcher to sd ?? It wont work anymore or what ?
oh and btw sorry if this is the wrong place for my problem i didnt know where should i put it
Thx in advance :)

I would do some research in your devices all thing root section. Rooting can cure your space issues, but I would warn against using apps to move other apps to the card. Check to see if there is another way firstm those apps can cause a lit of issues if there is a better way for you specific device to clear up space

Link2SD is a great app. If you do use it please make sure you don't move your market/play store app. I did that on one of my devices and had a real heck of a time getting it back after I cleared everything from my uSD.

I wrote a tutorial for installing Link2SD. It is specifically for the LG Optimus V, but should work for most devices (that don't use a tablet configuration with an internal uSD).

Before rooting make sure you spend a good deal of time reading and reading and reading through the forum for your device. And once you're ready to begin read a little more, especially if you are the least bit unsure of what you are doing.

I think nobody really needs to root, they just decide to because it offers more control of what’s going on in there. You don’t have to root to move most apps to SD. I suspect that moving things you currently can’t, like launchers, may either be impossible or disastrous. Other things like Maps you can and that’s the one thing that might get me to root someday.

But in the meantime, check your app sizes and try to find lighter replacements. My droid was constantly warning me until I did that and I’ve had no such problem since, and that’s with a hundred apps on a eensy Optimus.

Another trick that helped me was Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Maps > Uninstall (ginoumous) Updates.

Thanks all for the quick answers :)
Ummmm.. If im too afraid that i wont do it alone and might end up bricking my phone would taking it to the mobile store to do it for me be a good idea? Or they dnt do such stuff? lol
