Help Is SMS problem fixed in Gingerbread

Does anyone know if the SMS problem that prevents SMS messages being received on the Nexus One if there is less than 20MB of spare memory has been fixed in Gingerbread?

This problem should have been fixed ages ago as not only is the message not received, the Nexus one tells the mobile operator that the message has been received and is thus lost forever and one has no idea who even sent the message.

The problem is mentioned at: Issue 4991 - android - Can not receive SMS when internal memory is low. - Project Hosting on Google Code and it seems this may not be just a Nexus One problem.
 
Not really sure about that as Google hasn't deployed Gingerbread OTA to our N1 yet.

And this problem is a real pain but I try to make sure that my memory always stay above 20mb to not have it.
 
Thanks Bisco: Im a new driod user...Precedent walmart phone. I encountered this problem within the 1st day. The app works on my phone, my os is Froyo or whatever its called. I have 800mhz so ginger is on it, from what i read. Now i get 2 messages everytime someone sends a text, but i guess i wont lose one any moar.
