I went to motorolla site and found that they have 2 versions of this phone
one is $299 with plan and other is $599 with no plan.

My question is that can anyone confirm if $599 version is unlocked and can be used outside of the US?

Can't find anything on the motorola.com site showing two versions. What are the plans that motorola is offering? Actually motorola makes phones, they're not a wireless carrier.

Are you sure you weren't looking on the Verizon website? They show a 2 year contract plan where the phone is $299 and a month-to-month (with no contract) where the phone is $649.00. But the phone is the same, just the contract is different.

Remember Verizonis a CDMA/LTE network and thw Maxx is not a world phone. Any Verizon veraion version is locked and cannot be used outside the US.

I just paid full price at Verizon, damn Motorola for selling it for less. Will look it up later and see if Verizon will price match it.

I have found that the GSM and Unlocked version of this phone is available in India....
Motorola RAZR XT910: Price in India, Reviews, Specification: Flipkart.com

Ah but its not the Maxx version.

It seems the one available on motorolla.com site is only CDMA version.

I wonder how much is the battery life difference between the two.

Anyways .... it looks that I will have to be satisfied with the non-maxx or wait for more time till the GSM unlocked version of maxx comes to India.
