Root is the ascend able to overclock to 1GHz

Rooted, flashed CWM, flashed A2tude and the donate version of SetCPU (available to XDA memebers) and click 'auto read speeds' and viola! However, my wife's A2 will only set 806...after that, it's unstable.

PS-in case it's not common knowledge for you: you need a custom kernel (included in A2tude flash) to overclock. Also, the 'DuckMod' rom won't clock over 748mhz for some reason...so if you want to OC over 8XXmhz, you need a2tude.

well, my phone is rooted and im a member on xda so i got the paid version of setcpu. only thing missing is an a2tude flash huh?

while im off googling this, care to enlighten me on what it is, as well as pointers of things i should/shouldnt do when flashing?

what i gather is, you need a custom kernel -which comes in an a2tude flash-, but then you also need a different rom other than duckmod if you want speeds higher than 8xx?

am i currect im assuming that duckmod is also included in the a2tude flash?

Yeah...you need the kernel that is in A2tude to overclock. Kinda sucks that it's the only kernel right now, but at least the rom in comes in is stock and works flawlessly. Again, thanks Playfulgod.

Just don't use/flash with ROM Manager and you should be fine.

Duckmod is another ROM available for our phones. It's not fully working and the dev suggests not going over 748mhz...

A2tude is the only REAL option for us lowly Huawei A2 guys right now.
 
I just want to add there is no way for an ascend to oc to 1Ghz and only a handful will handle anything over 806. Even if I complied the kernel with scaling to 1Ghz the ascend wouldn't handle it. ;)

Agreed. Qualcomm's suggested spec on the 7627 proc is 800mhz max
 
There is NO WAY to overclock the ascend 2 any higher than 829 mhz without it becoming unstable
