Is the DInc 2 internal storage minimum still 500mb like the orginial DInc?

I have the first DInc and I'm tired of the program crashes because I am close to the 500 mb minimum. Thinking of rooting or getting the DInc 2 if that has more available memory. Anyone here close to the minimum on their DInc 2?

What Twiz is asking is not about the total internal storage on the Inc2, but the amount of memory remaining before you start seeing the "memory low" warning.

This is a problem on the Inc1. Basically when you get to around 500mB space free on the Inc1 you get the memory low warning in your notification bar that con't be cleared permanently.

I say around because if I get below 510mB on mine I get it. The only way to fix it (unrooted) is to clear out gmail & sms/mms messages, app data cache, or start removing apps till you get above the threshold.

I'm still surprised that they haven't done a software update to fix this. But now that it's been replaced, I doubt there will be a fix from HTC.

To answer (or not answer as the case maybe) your question Twiz, I haven't seen it yet. But I currently have 775mB of free space left, so if the threshold is 500mB, I've got a little way to go before I find out.

If they used a percentage for the threshold, the Inc1 would be at about 65% (768mB total with the threshold at 500mB). On the Inc2 using the same percentage and assuming 1.14GB of internal memory, we would start seeing the warning notification at around 741mB of free space. Hopefully it's not a percentage.

And hopefully (assuming it's a set amount of free space) they have lowered the threshold to something around 150-250mB. With a lot of apps less than 10mB, even a threshold of 150mB would leave you with 15 10mB apps before you run out of space.

Interesting ... I am currently at 868 and change available, so not as low as vzwuser76. I hope they got rid of the warning all together.

The low space warning is because of the program data partition only being 150mb in size. It can not be fixed via OTA because it would involve re-partitioning the phones internal memory.

The warning has NOTHING to do with how much 'application space' you have available. Long thread but VERY informative:http://androidforums.com/incredible...e-phone-application-storage-notification.html
This should not be a problem any longer....
