Is the new Incredible not really so special?

rsarno

Thank Me, Im Irish!
wife and I are ready for upgrades from our Inc2's. We waited a long time for the Inc3 but it seems like nothing special really.

I dont know what it is i was hoping for, but id hate to use my last discount and lock into a phone which is outdated from day1

in the current lineup, what phones are above par?

We may end up going for the Inc3, but id really like to UPgrade, not just make a latteral move onto a newer phone.

Thanks

I'm in much the same position - can't decide between the Incredible 4G LTE or the Samsung S3. There's also the Motorola Razr and Razr Max but I'm not going there myself because they have a locked bootloader and I want something a little more flexible - that said I've no idea if the HTC or Samsung also fit the bill in that regard.

going from inc2 to inc4g will not be a lateral move
inc2 has 3g where inc4g has 4g speeds
inc has single core 1.0 ghz cpu inc4g has the newest dual core 1.2 ghz out
better graphics
better camera
ice cream sandwich (ice)
sense 4.0
nfc
more ram
more internal memory 8gb

tons to list

right now the top phones are
samsung galaxy s3 4.8 screen
htc inc 4g 4.0 screen
motorola droid razr maxx 4.3 screen
samsung galaxy nexus 4.6 screen
htc rezound 4.3 screen

just depends on what size phone you want too

the inc4g will be a great phone. if you want to stay with the same size screen you will love the inc4g

With the exception of a more efficient processor and Sense 4.0, the Dinc 4G isn't much different than the Rezound. It's kinda like the HTC One S without the superior camera and the Rezound, despite being older, still has a superior display. Honestly, if you're really looking for an upgrade the Dinc 4G isn't much of one. I'd take a hard look at the Samsung Galaxy 3 or the Razr Maxx first if you really want something that'll be an upgrade work paying money for.

With exception of a more powerful engine and improved suspension, a Ferrari isn't much different than a Ford Fusion.

What a crazy statement. A new, faster processor is a huge part of the overall experience. Dinc 4G is indeed a nice upgrade over the Rezound and the Razr Maxx as well.

Still, unless you just want a smaller phone, I see no reason to get the Dinc 4G over the Galaxy S3.

Incredible 4G is definitely not a high end device...it is targeted to a mid-tier audience and of course priced accordingly. GS3 is the top of the line device right now.

I would call it upper mid-tier, but probably the best sub 4.3" phone out there. If 4.3+ is too big, the Inc4G is a great choice, but if a bigger screen/phone doesn't bother you, there are better.

I think it's supposed to be a major competitor to the iPhone 5, which is rumored to be a 4" display and have LTE. People who want something fast and practical without being a monster. The bigger they make the Galaxy S line, and the bigger everything else gets, the more market there is for something a bit smaller.

I dropped by the Verizon store and played around with it.

It's a nice phone. But not for me for two reasons:
1) Screen size. I want a big screen.
2) I didn't like the design- the back is weird and I didn't like the red accents. I prefer the gs3's design.

Incredible LTE is pretty much an HTC One S. If you don't want the huge screen size of the S3, then this is a good device. It has an S4 chip so it's going to be much smoother too.

It is a modernized HTC Incredible.

I loved loved loved my original INC too. I'd suggest (to the OP) the Razr Maxx... BUT would strongly suggest playing around with it in the store first. MotoB is much different than Sense. I prefer Sense. That said, Moto's radios are much better than HTC's, I find. I went Razr and then went Rezound. I had to load too many 3rd party apps to get around MotoB. Final thing... RazrMaxx now is ICS... and I've read that ICS has made MotoB much more tolerable. So... back to where I started... go play around with one in the store (but make sure it's updated to ICE, though!).
