Is the Verizon update required

I'm putting off installing last week's update (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) and i probably won't install 4.3 for a couple of weeks.

With the impending release of Andriod 4.3 for the G4, I was wondering if the recent Verizon "maintenance release" will be required before the 4.3 update can be installed? Or will 4.3 include the new updates?

In the wonderful world of Windows, most major updates require almost all the maintenance releases of the current OS be installed.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

I'm going to answer my own post:

YES.

I checked last night for the 4.3 update, it only showed the 4.2.2 update from a couple weeks ago.
I checked this morning, same story.

So I installed the 4.2.2 update - took about 15 min.
Everything looks good after an hour...

I checked again for an update and there was the 4.3 notification.

So unless it was a giant conincidence - the 4.2.2 update was a pre-requisite for the 4.3 udpate.
