Is the white feminine?

Plus I am not sure about the blue since it looks purple in a lot of videos and the home button looks to be a different shade compared to the rest of the phone.

That was the main turn off for me. The off color button takes the phone from classy to trashy. The white is elegant through and through. Now if only I could get it with an Exynos.
 
if i want a white one, i'll get a white case.

i dont think its feminine... too iphone-ish tho. tho pebble blue isn't super masculine either.
 
I named my phone "damned phone" but it has dodgy reception. I ordered the white. I've never had a whit phone before, if it gets dirty and does not clean up easily I'll put a case on it, otherwise it will add to the illusion that I have a tan

I've been a "Car guy" pretty much all of my life and I've known plenty of the same. But I don't think I can remember a single guy I've ever known who named his car/truck with a girls name. A few guys in the 4x4 club I used to belong to gave names to their rides but they were usually somewhat macho names and the guys were (for the most part) posers. Before anyone asks, yes, I do still have all of my own teeth and I'm not married to my cousin. And for what it's worth, I ordered a blue SGS3. Maybe I should name Her "Ol' Blue". ;)

I don't think white is considered a feminine color for everything but it is for some things. I wouldn't put cars and phones in the same category. Far more women than guys wear white sunglasses and I think they're more in the same fashion category as phones are. A car isn't really a fashion accessory. For so many people a phone is considered a fashion accessory and far more women have white phones, white glasses, white pants, white shoes, etc...White is considered a feminine color because far more women choose the color white for things they wear or carry around than men do. There's no doubt about that and I can't think of a better way to define if something (Non-organic) is feminine or not. Can you?

When I buy a phone or a car my first concern is not at all what it looks like but rather how it performs. Sure, I want both of them to look good but that's more important to me with a car than a phone. When it comes right down to it, I'll always pick the phone or car that performs the best. If I can choose a color that makes it look better I won't pick white because it makes a car look too generic and it makes a phone look too feminine...In my opinion of course.

White is definitely not a feminine issue at all. Then what about for those who had purchased the white iPhones?? I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of preference. In the past there were only phones manufactured in one color: BLACK. I am just grateful that we have more color of selection for phones. Don't you? :D

Benny, I'm not sure it could be more well put than the way you explained it. In many instances at least. I sent a mass text out last night to 40 guy friends and 40 female friends. I attached a pic of the blue and white versions and simply asked which color they preferred. 31/40 guys chose blue. 34/40 females chose white. I won't say a white phone is feminine per se, but I do believe a white phone is preferred by females. In the end it really doesn't matter. Get the one you like best and enjoy!!
 
I'm a girl and have got a white one which is really nice but i'm exchanging my phone for a blue one (dodgy headphone socket). I like the metallic blue colour with hints of purple in it. Looks great in sunlight. I don't think white is feminine at all. I wish it came in pink! That would be awesome lol!
 
I've never thought that way. I have seen many mans with white iPhones, and it doesn't look weird at all. I think it's totally depending on individual taste. :)
 
I think this all depends on where you hail from. When in Cali I saw a large number of guys that had white iPhones and white rim glasses. Some were feminine fellas and some were not. It was very clear that white items on a guy was much more accepted.

In the mid west (not always) if you are carrying a white phone people will likely think you are feminine. White rim glasses people will definitely think you are feminine. Nothing wrong with it but feminine.

In Appalachia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachia-- A white phone/white rim glases on a guy means "oooh oooh I volunteer to be the next guy you linch mob" :)

Back to the east coast of the US and you again find acceptance in what ever color for what ever device.

Next time you travel just look at each of the gates and what their destinations are. You will often find a very diverse look/presentation as you walk the gates.

So the answer is? It depends!
 
After reading some reviews I was all set on getting the blue S3 but when I finally went to the shop and checked them both out I decided that the white actually looked a lot nicer and went for that. It looks a lot better than the white iphone and the blue S3 IMHO. And I've not regretted it.

Great observations! I'm from Ca. and generally we tend to adopt a "whatever floats your boat" kind of attitude. I know lots of very manly men who wear white pants, pink shirts and carry white phones. I know just as many who wouldn't be caught dead with any of those. My husband included. (Bit then again, this is a man who wore black jeans and boots on our trip to the Bahamas. He has since been broken of such habits.:D)
