Root Is there a 2.3.6 Rom update like the Samsung site shows?

Lots of posts in the MetroPCS Admire forum because there is a new official update.

The official Samsung site
Support - More Cell Phone Providers SCH-R720 | Samsung Cell Phones

is showing that there is an August 1 dated update to 2.3.6 for the Admire, Vitality, and generic versions of the R720. But, when I downloaded one, it has a file name of MetroPCS_R720_Admire_simple_upgrade_tool_FF18.exe

so I'm thinking something is wrong. Anyone know more??

In short, no. No update.
Have I ported it over? Yes, I have.
Is it better than my current 236 build? No. Oa reigns supreme.
Will I release the port? Not sure yet m8. I don't like releasing dirty ports like that. All I can say is that you're not missing anything when compared to OA.

Kernels the same gpsd has been modified down a little, i still have my age old gps bug lol. If your going for stock then 2.3.6 is better than 2.3.4, if your not on the network go for this over EH29 (Vitality users), i like a few things about it lock screen, themes etc but performance wise you cant beat OA, Spz has done a good job on it.
