Is there a better file manager for Android?

I bought a Trio Stealth 4.3" Internet tablet and added 32 GB of external storage on a microSD card. I'd like to add a shortcut icon (named Video) to the folder where I uploaded some video clips, but the task seems monumental. The manual is of no help and searching the Internet proved fruitless. I realize that the Android OS is a bare-bones setup, but surely an icon can be created. Is there an app like Windows Explorer that I might be able to install to create shortcuts and manage the files?

Thanks.

I tried to download and install ES Explorer from Google Play but received a message that I was not signed in. I then signed in successfully, using my Gmail info, only to be taken to a page that asked me for $2.99 before letting me access the downloads page. I thought the app was freeware!

So I downloaded the app from the developer (AppsApk.com). I did check the URL that required payment, and the site was genuinely Google. I guess there is a membership fee that is probably well worth the $, but I'm not inclined to pay for freeware.

AppsApk.com are not the developers of ES File Explorer. The real devs are www.estrongs.com. I do not know who the site you used are.

ES is free in the Play Store, or can be downloaded from the real developers' site. If something you think is the Play Store was trying to charge you I'd check your browser, or make sure it was the right app you were downloading. The real Play Store is play.google.com, or just use the Play Store app on the phone.

There is no membership fee for the Play Store.

Thanks for clearing that up. I installed ES File Explorer but could not find the tool to create a shortcut icon, and I think I tapped every icon in the GUI. I can build webpages, mux-sync AV-then-remux video, edit and tweak Win registry, blend layers in PSP, and I even wrote three 250 page computer manuals (Windows103, Audacity101, and Finale101, q.v.), but I can't create a shortcut for Android.

Longpress on your homescreen. Choose shortcut>ES File Explorer>[filename] and it should create a shortcut to that file.
