Is there a *good* list?

Props and kudos to Oregon2. Thanks homeboy. And the others that got him there. Superone Click and Titanium backup and Booya verizon.

I wont add to the chorus of people complaining about the Verizon baggage on the commando. But after having gone through the process of removing most of it, I have a basic question.

Is there a preffered list of aps to have instead? I have seen Launcher mentioned many times and titanium backup as well. All the GzGear I can do without. A compass might come in handy when I am hunting chanterelles not to mention a GPS plotter of some kind. There's probably other stuff that I dont know about yet

I am asking this as a neophyte android nerd. So some of the answers may seem all too obvious to the well schooled .. just remember some are not so well schooled on this topic.

Thanks ...

Gps plotter; I LOVE maverick. Before you hit a spot where you might lose service (hunting, wheeling, boat ops) zoom into the area you will be in-in the app, it auto caches 10 MB of maps to the level you have it zoomed into making it completely standalone once service is lost. You can store 7 waypoints in the free version and no ads to blow you up. In the ploting/tracking mode it shows you a compass representing you and your estimated field of view, you can also set compass offset for mag-var or any other issues you might (will) have with the built-in digital compass.

Just my $0.02
