Help Is there a music app without default playlists?

I dumped my iPhone and switched to Android (LG Style 3 Plus) a week ago and love it, but there's one thing I can't figure out. Almost every music player app I have tried (5 apps and counting) share the same annoyance:

  • These default playlist entries appear at the TOP of my list of playlists:
    • Most played
    • Recently played
    • Recently added
  • Those 3 default playlists cannot be removed, hidden, or moved to the bottom.
Having those 3 at the TOP, always in my face, totally useless...is bugging me, and I cannot believe that almost all music players have this same "feature". How can I make those go away, or what's a good music player app that does not have those annoying entries?

The BlackPlayer doesn't have that problem BUT it makes it extremely difficult to add songs from a folder into a playlist. And adding songs from my list of all songs, into a playlist, is very clunky and time consuming.

Thanks in advance!

To avoid comments full of repetition, please list the five apps you have tried and find wanting.
But just offhand, have you gone into the Settings menus of those apps you've tried out? Apps like MX Player and VLC have extensive options on customizing their user interfaces that can alter the default folders and general appearance when the app starts up.

I have gone into the settings of all the apps - none of them allow the hiding or removal of those entries. The apps are:

- Music (built into Android? not sure)
- Pi Music Player
- BlackPlayer
- Bits MP3 Player
- Google Play Music

Your "Music" app is probably the manufacturer's app rather than a default android one, whoever the manufacturer is.

I've just had a look at the "playlists" section of my 3 music players (I don't use playlists myself, so had to look). What I found by default was:

* Neutron had a "recently added" which I couldn't remove, plus some other junk I could. Unfortunately I didn't think to test whether I could move it to the bottom until I'd removed the others.

* PowerAmp had no default lists at all.

* USB Audio Player Pro had no playlists that I couldn't remove.

UAPP is a paid app with no free trial period (just a 2 hour Play Store refund), and as the name suggests is really aimed at people who use external USB DACs. The other two have quite long trial periods, so you can easily test either and see whether they suit you.

Hey, welcome to the wonderful world of Android as you now will get to test and experience apps as you wish. Plus, Android phones have SD card support.
So anyway, I'd say all music apps have a playlist of course but some if not most are entirely optional. I use GOM Audio Plus as my currently favorite music player and does the job as it should. I also love the pre-included equalizer it has.
