I got my Droid a few months ago and INTENSELY dislike the calendar app!!! I have had a Palm Treo for years and like the calendar a lot...I can't find a way to put the calendar app on the Droid....any suggestions? Thanks!!

Welcome to the AF forums and enjoy your visits !!

Thanks, yes, I checked the Market, and just found an interface software to sync the two calendars, but it doesn't put the actual Palm Desktop calendar onto the Droid. Any suggestions for a friendlier calendar than the GMail one?

I have been having the same problem and, at this point, I don't believe we are going to find a calendar to match what we had in our Palms. However, I do love the droid enough to make the adjustment and wait for a third party app to appear on the Market. If I run into anything, rest assured I will make the post. Good luck to you.

Same boat here -- long-time PalmOS users with a Treo 755p, moving to (unsupported) Windows 7/64 and in need of a new phone and carrier. I'm looking at DejaOffice for Android (phone and tablet) combined with CompanionLink and Pimlical on my desktop. Right now CL Pro appears only to allow up to 3 devices and it ain't cheap, but I'm hoping that isn't completely accurate.

Welcome to Android Forums, fellow Palm refugee. The calendar is definitely lacking here when you come from what we had - the whole PIM functionality is lacking, as a matter of fact! Go read this thread about the best calendar app, you'll get lots of pointers in there. I am using Pimlical/A, the Android version of Pimlical, or Datebk3/4/5/6, in combination with Pure Calendar Widget, to show my agenda on a screen.

Ann, how are you syncing Pimlical/A with your desktop?

I'm not, really. I just use Google Calendar. I have Pimlico desktop but I'm not using it. I really see no need for now. I do have a backup set for Google Calendar, however.

1st post :)

I just wrote a long post and lost it all since I am new and it had a link in it. Arrggg So this one will be short and to the point.

I am also a long time Palm user.
After much research I found B-Folders to replace Contacts and Memos.
It has a Desktop like Palm and is very easy to transfer data from Palm.

It does not have a calendar yet, but may in the future.

Sync is by USB and is secure.

I highly recommend it.

Enjoy

I've heard good things about B-folders, I'll have to check it out.

Not exactly but here's an excellent fix.
Download DeJaOffice to your Android from the Android Market. Then download Companionlink to your PC. (Google it for details.)
Companionlink will sync your Palm calendar, notes, tasks, and contacts to DeJaOffice on your Droid.
It also handles other PIMs like Outlook, if you want to sent Outlook data to your Droid.

With DeJaOffice running on your Droid you'll never again look at the Android calendar.

That Deja App with Companion Link solution is all well and good until Palm Desktop by Access stops working. Two months after I purchased Companion Link I suddenly could no longer use the desktop version of my Palm software, grrrrrrr.

Hello All Palm Users (current and former),

I have yet to divorce myself from using my "tired", almost dying, Palm Treo 755P. As all of us Palm users, we have found that PALM had the best, and was ahead of it's time, Calendar Features... I am having such a hard time to keep track of my Calendar Events... With Palm, it was an "at a glance" to know excatly what the events were... I need to find how to Color Events ... I had many colored events... Medical (Red), Personal (Blue), Boys & Girls Club (Green), Travel/Entertainment (Purple)... you get the idea.. then it would also sync well with my contact list.. HAS ANYONE FOUND A CALENDAR APP FOR A ANDROID THAT IS CLOSE TO A PALM ?? Please Help ! Paul

I'm not sure if its close to what you use on Palm, but I assure you...its awesome. The Play Store has thousands of free and paid applications available.

Hello and welcome aboard. I hope you'll find this place helpful. <(￣︶￣)> []~(￣▽￣)~* (￣﹏￣) (￣ˇ￣)

I'm waiting for Pimlical/Android to have a direct USB sync to Pimlical Desktop. According to the Pimlico Software page, it's almost there:

Pimlico Software home page
"Pimlical/Android - Version 1.19.28 has been posted. This release includes support for Android 4.0, Call/Action Templates and several minor features and bug fixes (see WhatsNew button in About dialog).

Pimlical - Version 1.4.06 has been posted. The usb local sync is in beta test and nearing completion and will be released shortly."
