I am coming from Palm where we had an app called Butler that would re-beep you at your pre-set interval to remind you of missed SMS and voicemails. Is there an app for that in android?
Handcent SMS, which is a complete replacement for the default SMS program, has a reminder function built-in. You can specify whether or not reminders are enabled, the number of reminders you want to receive, the interval on which you wish to be reminded, and whether or not the screen will be turned on from an 'off' state.
In addition, there is an app called Missed Call that can be set to remind you of many things...missed calls, SMS messages, low battery, bluetooth status, etc. I have them both installed, and have chosen to let Handcent handle SMS reminders, and Missed Call handle everything else.
Hmm, that's strange. I've had it installed on my Sprint Hero for the past few weeks (v 0.8.8) and it works just fine. It's known that an app can't change the color of the LED on the Hero, so maybe that's what the dev is referring to. Also, keep in mind that the only thing I'm using this app for is to notify me of missed calls, so maybe there's some other function that I'm not aware of that doesn't work.
